Heinz Field Security Information - IMPORTANT
Heinz Field is an NFL regulated stadium and enforces an extremely strict All Clear bag policy. Please refer to this website for details. Heinz Field’s policy on permitted items will be strictly enforced! Items that are NOT PERMITED include bags, back packs, coolers, thermoses, purses, cans, bottles, flasks, alcoholic beverages, laser pointers, umbrellas, strollers, video/movie cameras, professional camera equipment (lenses longer than 6 inches), tripods, audio recording equipment, banners or signs on poles, weapons, noisemakers, wearing or displaying apparel or signage with profane/abusive language, and any other item deemed dangerous and/or inappropriate. Handheld metal detectors are used at Heinz Field. Guests with permitted items also will need to have those items inspected. In addition, fans with heavy clothing, jackets, or blankets may be asked to open such items for inspection and screening by handheld metal detectors.
How do I get to the game?
Free shuttle bus service is available from Oakland to Heinz Field (Downtown) and back. Driving to the game is NOT recommended.
Board shuttles on Bigelow Boulevard in front of the Cathedral of Learning. Last shuttle departs campus at kickoff time.
Shuttles drop-off outside of Gate A until 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Within 90 minutes of kickoff, shuttles will drop off at Point State Park and riders will walk across the pedestrian bridge.
At the end of the first quarter, shuttles begin to travel back to campus and will do so throughout the game
Return-to-campus shuttles will board on Reedsdale Street near Gate B.
Shuttles located on General Robinson Street only depart after the conclusion of the game
Disability Shuttle departs from Upper Bigelow near Soldiers and Sailors Garage entrance and transports guests directly to the stadium throughout kickoff. Drop-off point is North Shore Drive at Art Rooney Avenue.
Disability shuttles will make return trips to campus starting at halftime and running until 1 hour after the game ends. Return shuttles depart from North Shore Drive at Art Rooney Ave.
When will game time be announced?
Kickoff time is determined by television broadcast schedules and the Athletic Department, and may not be confirmed until 1 week prior to the game. Please check the football schedule on the Pittsburgh Panthers web site for updates.
